Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Palette vs Makeup Revolution Light & Shade Palette /Perfect Dupe/

Kat Von D a great quality brand that I use and enjoyed a lot. I own many of her products like, the Everlasting Liquid and Studded Kiss Lipsticks, Monarch Eyeshadow Palette, Lock it Foundation & Setting powders and of course the Tattoo Liner.

I bought the KVD Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette a couple years back, I wanted a neutral, matte eyeshadow palette that could be a staple for an everyday look or one that I can pair with any other shimmery shadows or pigments. So, at the time this looked like the best eye palette out there. The shadows are very pigmented and blendable. This palette has all the gorgeous neutrals described as  – a creamy nude, a cool taupe, a peachy bronze, a dusty fawn, an espresso brown, a soft beige, a smoky brown, a jet black, a pinkish ivory, a rich rust, a chocolate brown & a golden bisque.

If you know Makeup Revolution, it’s the ‘infamous’ dupe king brand 😉 I have been quite fascinated with MUR since last year, after trying out some of their products l have actually grown to like it a lot, as its a very affordable, fun brand with superb quality products. After hearing a lot of buzz about how similar the Makeup Revolution Palette is to the Kat Von D Shade & Light, I certainly wanted to compare the two and…Oh my stars!!  forget about them being duplicates, these two palettes are identical !! Let’s go ahead and compare the two…

Overall Thoughts

Dupers are lovely! They are a saving grace for teenagers and those who do not wish to spend an exorbitant amounts of money on makeup. While Kat Von D is a luxury brand with high quality products that never disappoint! I do really really like the Makeup Revolution Palette and think its a very close dupe of her Shade + Light Palette, I honestly didn’t expect it to perform so well. The colors & layout is very similar with shadows being very pigmented and blend out very well. I am very impressed with this palette! The price point is obviously the biggest difference between these palettes so if the Kat Von D Shade & Light has been something on your list and you do NOT want to shell out $50 on it, then I definitely think the Makeup Revolution is a great $15 dupe!! I highly recommend picking this up if you don’t wanna splurge!
