Influenster – Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundations Review

Hey Everyone, so Influenster added to my foundation obsession and sent me two MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundations to review, The Invisible Cover Foundation & Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. Anyone who’s into makeup knows that Makeup Forever is one of the best professional brands out there, so I almost fell of my chair when I saw the mail from Influenster that my #MakeupForeverUltraHDvoxbox was on the way…

Right! it came wrapped in a black Influenster Box. There were two Foundations inside one is the liquid and the other is stick the stick foundation packaged nice and secure in black and red paper, the MUFE logo printed inside the box is perfect and so eye catching & is perfect for pretty pictures!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD The Invisible Cover Foundation (Price – $43.00) I have been using the Makeup Forever HD Foundation for years and love it! It has a flawless finish, great medium to buildable coverage and photographs really well. However, MUFE decided to reformulate it and replace it with the Ultra HD version. I almost panicked and wanted to buy a backup of it immediately when I heard they were discontinuing it, but they have only reformulated the foundation and replaced it with the Ultra HD version. Now its not just HD its going to be ‘Ultra HD’ Foundation. It is supposed to have a medium coverage and long wearing with a satin finish. It definitely was one of my favorites and I fail to understand why companies change or take off cult favorite products off the shelf. It is already loved!, it works!, its perfect! Then why change it or reformulate???

Anyways, the new packaging is simple, it again has a pump which is of course nice, the shade range is huge, It has 40 shades to choose from that covers all undertones namely, Yellow, Red & Natural, so you can not miss your exact color what so ever!! I got sent the color in Y355 Neutral Beige which matches me perfectly!

My Thoughts – I used my beauty blender to apply the foundation let me say again matches me perfectly that i almost felt i had nothing on, it felt very natural looking and undetectable. The texture is quite runny & liquid-y, it also feels quite hydrating on the face. I applied two layers but still could see my little spots here and there and hyper pigmentation peeking through, which is why my face definitely needed a heavy hand of concealer. In other words the foundation does not have much coverage and did not seem to build up and do it for me.
The finish felt good, it did smooth out the skin and wore on my face for 5-6 hours. It is so lightweight that I almost felt like I have nothing on my face. If you have any texture or problem areas that you need to cover then this is not going to be gratifying. I feel this foundation is designed for someone who already has great skin and only wants a light coverage to even it out the skin with a natural finish, if I compare it to my older HD Formula then I would say that the HD one was a slightly more thicker and definitely did offer more coverage. So am a bit bummed as I liked the older version better and its no longer available.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD The Invisible Cover Stick Foundation (Available in 15 Shades) – (Price – $43.00) My thoughts – Cream foundations can be either hit or miss for me thanks to my combination/dry skin. This is a very creamy stick that glides on the skin seamlessly, has is a traditional twist-up foundation stick that gives a sheer, to medium, to FULL coverage depending on how much I apply it and sets to a satin finish, i feel I really need a good primer underneath or it WILL cling to any dry patches on my face.

My pic MUFE

It did give me better coverage than the liquid version without emphasizing my pores surprisingly it blended very effortlessly! With a creamy texture I prefer to use a light hand so it does not accentuate my pores and get cake-y on my skin. This foundation gave me a light to medium coverage and a natural finish, it felt very light weight on the skin and wore well for 5-6hours. It was super easy to apply and blend!

There are 15 shades in the range and I was sent the color in 128 = Y415 Almond, which is one shade darker than my skintone, but it worked out really well after buffing it in. Packaging is nice & compact, you pop off the lid the additional plastic cap on the stick will keep it secure and kept it from drying out which is nice. I like to carry it with me for touch ups & spot concealing, only because it is so effortless & easy to apply. It thankfully didn’t oxidize on my face and felt very comfortable through out the day. Now, would I purchase this stick foundation when I run out? The answer is NO i would not and that’s because i prefer liquid foundations with medium to full coverage. There are definitely some favorites I have that do the job really well…high- end /drugstore both…I will be writing another post about those…

After really enjoying my HD version I had been super curious to see how i like the Ultra HD version. A huge thanks to Influenster for sending me this box of goodies. I loved reviewing it & I hope this Post was helpful in any way.
